Breakfast Blend: Lift

It's the kind of morning that begs for a warm mug, preferably in bright colors, filled with steaming dark liquid. The wind is still hurling the wet snow to the ground, but nothing sticks. I've been glued to the computer for days now, re-branding this business, building a new site, and wishing that I had the minions from Despicable Me to resize all my photos. With these new efforts, we've established continuity and, more importantly, helped promote the partnership between Nathan Oldham Photography and the Orphan Justice Center. I never wanted photography to be all about money- straight business. There are enough photographers trying to climb to the top, take the spotlight (some rightfully so, there is a lot of serious talent out there!), and make lots of dough. That's why the two words I tag on to describe the business are: Photography. Justice. One thing the world doesn't need is more guys with cameras. Let's be honest, the market is saturated with them. What the world needs is individuals and businesses who have something else in mind- something deeper. Something that will help. Something that will lift up. Just watch the news and you know that we need a shift: from getting to giving; from spending to saving; from me to you.

So, I hope that in some way, I am doing my part. Not because I have to, but because I want to; because I believe that there is no part of life, business included, that is exempt from helping those in need. When you support Nathan Oldham Photography, you support OJC and the children they help. So here's to living, and photographing, for something more...stop by OJC's site to lean more about the life-changing things that these everyday heroes are doing.
